About SMISS
Mission Statement
The Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (SMISS) is a non-profit, tax-exempt, charitable organization devoted to improving the health of patients with spinal disorders by advancing the highest quality minimally invasive spinal care for our patients.
The Society provides a forum for exchange of ideas and will foster outcomes-based research in the field of MIS. It will provide for education and training of its members in the latest cutting edge techniques and promote the safe and effective use of technology. It will provide a resource for patients and their families as well as other physicians on up-to-date information in an effort to simplify and improve healthcare delivery to patients suffering from painful spinal conditions.
